Definition of student: Person enrolled in a BSc, MSc, PDEng or PhD degree program at an accredited university.

Registration for participants includes: access to all sessions, welcome package, welcome reception, coffee breaks, lunches, and conference dinner.

Note: Participants presenting multiple papers will be charged an additional 100 € per paper unless covered by the registration fee of another co-author.

Maximum one visit by participant, €50,-.

Hotel preference

A number of hotels are available in Eindhoven at a discounted fee for conference participants. Please check the hotel information page. During the registration process you will be given the possibility to opt for one of these preferred hotels.

Sponsored accommodation for students

For a limited number of student attendees, IEEE/PowerTech will offer sponsored accommodation at the Sandton Hotel. This will be available for 4 nights, from 28 of June to July 2nd, shared with two persons per room, and conveniently located within 25 minutes walking distance from the conference site. Applicants must email a brief motivation letter (please use PDF format) to powertech2015@tue.nl, using “student accommodation” in the subject line. This letter should indicate the following:

  • name, gender and affiliation of the student
  • what degree the student is pursuing (e.g. an MSc, PDEng or PhD degree)
  • if applicable, IEEE student membership number
  • if applicable, the number and title of paper at the conference
  • optionally, any additional information to support the request

Students will be notified regarding their eligibility for sponsored accommodation before 15 April. A personal code will be provided that can be used on the conference registration page.

Visa

Whether a participant of PowerTech Eindhoven 2015 requires a visa to enter the Netherlands depends on his nationality and how long he intends to stay in the Netherlands. Nationals of many countries require a visa for an uninterrupted stay of up to three months.

Please note that the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs requires that the request for visa are submitted three months in advance. The proper actions necessary to acquire a valid visa are entirely the participant’s own responsibility.

Visa granted too late or not at all will not be considered as a reason for refunding of the conference fee. Information regarding how to obtain a visa for the Netherlands can be found on the following website: Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If you require an invitation letter please contact the conference office. This letter will be provided only after acceptance of the abstract and/or registration for the conference.
